Geek Bar Pulse X

The Geek Bar Pulse X is a 25,000-puff disposable with 20 mL of 20 mg/mL nicotine salt e-liquid, an 820 mAh battery with USB-C fast charging, dual vertical mesh coils, a curved LED display and two modes, Standard and Pulse. It comes in 12 flavours and has the lowest per-device price of any disposable in our Disposable category. It's also one of the few lines where we have the full spec sheet listed, which makes it easy to know exactly what you're getting.

The 12 flavours are Razz Mango Ice, Lime Berry Orange Ice, Banana Ice, Miami Mint, Juicy Peach Ice, Blue Razz, White Grape Ice, Sour Strawberry Ice, Peach Berry Lime Ice, Grapefruit Ice, Strawberry Kiwi and Watermelon Ice. Nine are iced. The three that aren't are Miami Mint, Blue Razz and Strawberry Kiwi. Grapefruit Ice and Sour Strawberry Ice are worth noting because they're not in the Pulse 2's lineup at all, and Lime Berry Orange Ice and Peach Berry Lime Ice are the two citrus-mix options.

The obvious question is why you'd pick this over the Geek Bar Pulse 2, the other Geek Bar line we carry. We'll be straight: on puffs per dollar, the Pulse 2 wins by a wide margin. It's rated for 80,000 puffs for about $8 more, which works out to roughly 1,600 puffs per dollar against about 605 here. The Pulse X earns its place in three narrower cases: you want to spend less on a single device, you want one of the six flavours only this line carries, or you'd rather have a device you'll finish sooner and switch flavours more often.

Those six Pulse X-only flavours are Razz Mango Ice, Lime Berry Orange Ice, Sour Strawberry Ice, Peach Berry Lime Ice, Grapefruit Ice and Strawberry Kiwi (the Pulse 2 has Strawberry Kiwi Ice, the iced version). The other six, Banana Ice, Miami Mint, Juicy Peach Ice, Blue Razz, White Grape Ice and Watermelon Ice, are in both lines. If your flavour is in that shared group, the Pulse 2 is usually the better buy.

The reservoir size says something useful about puff ratings in general. The Pulse X holds 20 mL and is rated for 25,000 puffs. Flavour Beast's Beast Mode Max 3 60K also holds 20 mL and is rated for 60,000. Same volume, very different ratings. Manufacturers test puffs with their own standard draw, and coil and power settings change how much e-liquid each puff uses, so reservoir size is a more concrete number to compare when you have it.

The two modes are part of that picture. Standard is the default. The listing describes Pulse as an extended mode, and higher-output modes on any device use e-liquid and battery faster than the default setting. The 820 mAh battery recharges over USB-C, so a flat battery doesn't end the device while there's still e-liquid left. The display shows you where you stand. Charging never adds e-liquid, though. Once the 20 mL is gone, the device is done.

Nicotine is fixed at 20 mg/mL nicotine salt, the maximum Health Canada allows and the same strength as the other disposables we carry, so strength is never the reason to choose one over another. Our explainer on the 20 mg/mL limit covers why. Nicotine is addictive, and this product isn't intended for anyone who doesn't already use nicotine.

If you're new to disposables, our guide to disposable vapes explains how a sealed, pre-filled device works, and our how-to guide covers first use and charging.

Who is the Pulse X for? Someone who wants a full, published spec sheet, a lower price per device, and the option to switch between two modes. It also suits anyone who prefers to rotate flavours often rather than stay on one device for tens of thousands of puffs. Who should skip it? Anyone focused on value per puff; the Pulse 2 and the higher-capacity disposables give you far more for your money.

Picking a flavour: the 12 split into citrus mixes (Lime Berry Orange Ice, Peach Berry Lime Ice, Grapefruit Ice), berry and razz (Blue Razz, Razz Mango Ice, Sour Strawberry Ice, Strawberry Kiwi), fruit (Banana Ice, Juicy Peach Ice, White Grape Ice, Watermelon Ice), and one mint, Miami Mint. Sour Strawberry Ice is the only sour option. If you liked a Pulse 2 flavour that's also on this list, you'll find it here under the same name.
